Santa Letter Template
Write a letter from Santa mentioning your child's name, their year and what they've been up to. Three styles to choose from — fill it in and print.
What makes a good letter from Santa
The letters that children keep are the specific ones. "You were very good this year" is forgettable; "my elves told me you finally managed to swim a whole length without stopping" is something they'll believe, because nobody else would know it. Use one real detail from the year and the rest can be fairly standard.
Including something to work on also helps. A letter claiming everything was perfect all year reads as obviously fake to most children over about six — one gentle, honest note makes the whole thing more credible.
Choosing a template
Classic suits families who like the traditional North Pole framing, with formal language and a mention of the sleigh route. Warm reads more like a letter from a person and works well for younger children. Funny leans into the elves and the reindeer and suits children who are starting to find the whole thing amusing anyway.
Making it feel real
Print on cream paper rather than bright white, sign it in pen with a slightly wobbly hand, and — the detail most people forget — address the envelope. A letter that arrives in the post or turns up on the doormat lands very differently from one handed over at breakfast.
Frequently asked questions
Is this free to print?
Yes, and there's no account or email required.
Does it save what I type?
No. Everything stays in your browser and nothing is uploaded, so typing your child's name here doesn't send it anywhere. Reloading the page clears it — print before you close the tab.
Will the letter fit on one page?
All three templates are written to fit a single page. If yours runs slightly long, drop to one wish instead of three.
Can I use it for a classroom?
Yes — print as many different versions as you need.
